Tommy's Love of Legos

On 1:44 PM

The Lego Store in Chicago was Tommy's favorite. We spend hours in there with him. He took mental note of all that is capable with Legos.

He played at the tables they have set up in the store. He would have stayed for days, had we let him.

This is the Lego guy that sits on a bench outside of the store. Tommy loved that a chicken had roosted on his head and its egg had fallen and broken on his shoulder (of course, it was all made of Legos!)

They had a digital box screen. You held a box up and it animated every thing in the box. It was very, very neat. Technology is just amazing.

After this visit, you can imagine what was on Tommy's Christmas list. LEGOS! He has a box of Lego pieces, but no big sets that required assembly. Our deal with him is that the Legos have to stay in his room, that way William and Elise don't destroy his creations. Knowing he was getting LOTS of Legos for Christmas, Heath and I had to rethink that. We knew if he had to keep them in his room, we wouldn't see him for days on end. He would stay in there until every single thing was put together. So, we set up the tables in the living room. That way he would [somewhat] have human interaction. For 3 days, he sat at the tables and assembled Legos, with very little help. The only thing he really wanted help with was the stickers. He also loved that he could put on a performance for us once it was assembled.

Tommy waiting, not so patiently, for Heath to finish the stickers on the trains.

William in awe of Tommy's train that is now going. It is remote controlled.

Look at their faces! I love it. They are all so excited, especially Tommy and William.

Tommy called everyone in the living room for an unveiling of the train. Think he enjoys the attention?
I think he had a very Merry Christmas!
