Christmas Morning

On 11:29 AM
The joy of Christmas morning! Here's how we do it at our house, lots of presents, lots of chaos, lots of giggling kids and lots of happy, appreciative adults, lots of wrapping paper to clean up, then lots of toys to be assembled and played with. Wouldn't have it any other way!

Buffy enjoying being home with the kiddos. Our Christmas tradition is no one goes into the living room, until EVERYONE in the house is ready to go. They assembled on the steps, anxiously waiting!

William is not sure why everyone is up and so excited. Although, it was 7:00am or so, HOURS later than Christmas mornings of my childhood.

A mad dash to the living room to see what Santa left!

Elise admiring her Bitty Twins. Their names are Allie and Alex, although Alex's name changes to Ryan from time to time.

Caroline showing William his presents that Santa left.

Caroline found several (chocolate) lumps of coal in her stocking. She is asking why she got lumps of coal, because she had been good!

William trying out his big wheel.

Tommy got a shirt that says, "Wasn't Me". He is showing it to the video camera that was recording. For those of you who don't know, I have 3 perfect kids that do no wrong. Just ask them! If I ask who did something, they all three say they had nothing to do with it. So, when I found this shirt, I knew Tommy needed it. (And if they had it in the girls sizes, I would've purchased one for them, also.)

Elise showing off her Heely's that her Honey and Papa got her. Tommy LOVES his Heely's and has been through several pair. The girls thought they needed some, too. Them wearing them is very amusing. Luckily, they are very cautious when they have them on.

Caroline showing her new boots.

Tommy made this Christmas tree for the family at school. He got home with it and wrapped it. He was so proud for us to unwrap it Christmas morning. It will be a treasured Christmas decoration for years to come.

This shirt couldn't say it any better!

Tommy helping Heather hand out presents.

Heath took the camera and took some pics! (Major accomplishment!) I am helping Elise open one of her presents.

Caroline and "Elizabeth" (her American Girl Doll) got matching aprons. Now we can all cook in the kitchen together!

Tommy thumbing through his "Big Book of Questions". This has been a big hit. We have all learned some useless knowledge (and Tommy has read it to us, which is HUGE!)

Elise and her Babies (Left to Right: Alex, Bitty and Allie) sitting at the counter in their new seats. Elise is decorating her new [wooden] cupcakes. They have been a lot of fun. You draw on the icing, then erase with paper towel.

Caroline (with new apron on), washing her hands so she can help Honey cook breakfast.

Tommy in his new hat. Now he can ride his go cart in the cold weather and stay warm! He says, "Where does Santa find these things?"

Heather trying out Tommy's cool new hat.

Girls in their new matching PJ's. Their American Girl dolls also have the same matching jammies. Elise is also wearing her new Heely's.

Caroline and Elizabeth in their matching PJ's.

Elise riding her twins around on her tricycle.
For Christmas lunch, many of our family came and joined us. It is really such a treat to have everyone come and be with us. We get to enjoy all of the company...and don't have to pack up 3 kids and all of their new stuff!

I was setting up the camera and tripod for our group picture. Heather took advantage of the moment!

The whole group. Picture 1. Now look at the next picture. My kids are just goofy.

Notice anyone disappear? Tommy decided he would slide down behind the counter. And I love Caroline's face. Gotta love it. And the fact that the kids are still in their pajamas for Christmas lunch. To me, it is Christmas and if it makes them happy, then I am happy, too. There are way too many other battles I have to fight. I leave that one alone!

This is the essence of Christmas to me. Spending dear time with those we love. Memaw and my dad enjoying each other. That's what it is all about.

And then at the end of a wonderfully long day, this is what I find in our bed. Heath enjoying the new "Kindle", Judy (our cat) snoozing and Elise cuddled up with Allie. Couldn't help snapping a picture! Then I wondered...where am I to sleep?

I hope your Christmas was as joyous and blessed as ours.
