Happy Birthday Elise!

On 6:05 AM

It truly doesn't seem possible that today my youngest is turning 4. Seems like yesterday she was a newborn. I guess time flies when you are having fun! And Elise is going to make sure those around her have a good time.
If I had to describe Elise in one word, it would be "intense". For those of you who know her, you understand that completely. She is either at one extreme or the other. She can go from happy and giggling to angry and glaring in less than one second. When she is happy, she is a complete joy. She is carefree and makes everyone around her smile. She is someone who walks into a room (at age 3) and turns into the center of attention. She can shower you with love and kisses in one minute, then shoot darts at you with her eyes in the next minute. She holds the true meaning to "If looks could kill".
When she starts shooting those looks, Heath calls her "Bertha" after his mom. She had some looks that could shoot darts also! She sure would have loved Elise!
When Elise would go to work with me Ms. Johnnie and Ms. Rosemary named her "The Boss". That description fits her (too) well. She frequently tells Tommy and Caroline that they have to listen to her because Ms. Johnnie says she is the boss. Sad thing is, they usually do listen to what she says.

They have adored her from the moment they laid eyes on her.

Tommy wanted to hold Elise every chance he got. When she was maybe a week old, Elise was napping so I got the other 2 settled and went to take a quick shower. I got out of the shower and went immediately to her Moses Basket, where I had left her sleeping. To my surprise, she was not there. I quickly go to the living room to find Tommy (age 4) sitting on the couch holding her. She was still sound asleep. He said she needed him, so he went and got her. I could do nothing but love on him for it.

Elise's full name is Elise Kelly. Her middle name was taken from Sean's middle name. Kelly was the maiden name of Sean's paternal grandmother.
In this pic, Sean had come home from Ohio State for a visit right after Elise was born. I am not sure he had ever held a baby so little when we put her in his arms and snapped a picture. You can tell by the look on his face that although he is delighted to see her, he is not so sure about holding her. He was accustomed to wrestling with a 4 and 2 year old, not a week old infant.

Elise has never been afraid to get dirty. She is the first one to pick up a bug, worm or caterpillar. If she comes up to me and says, "Look what I have" with her hands clasped, I am usually concerned. There is no telling what she has picked up! She is not afraid of anything. She will stand up for what she believes in, no matter who she is standing up to. This will serve her well in life, as long as she is believing in the right things!!
Happy 4th birthday my sweet 'Lisey!

Ok, looks like I am going to have to find a way to warn everyone what they are about to read! You are the third or fourth person that has told me they read something at work, only to end up in tears and others thinking they have lost it completely! So glad you enjoyed it. She had a wonderful day. I wanted to pick her up from Ms. Paula's before lunch and take her out, just the two of us. Then just hang out and go to the park and whatever else she wanted. She told me that she was not going with me. She was partying with her friends today. Guess I know where I fit in! The day was great. Starting with opening presents before 6:00am. Ill post pics. She is half asleep watching her ipod right now. She will sleep well tonight! Love you and hope you make it home for the 14th!
